12 Free Christmas Winter Holidays Granny Square Patterns

Granny squares are easy to make, work up fast and are a clever way to use yarn leftovers. So if you are planning to crochet a Christmas blanket as a last minute project, then this is the way to go.

It wasn't easy to find free patterns for interesting granny square designs, but after hours spent online, I gathered 12 beautiful patterns that you can use to make beautiful pieces of decor for your home or give as gifts.

Some are posted as dishcloth patterns, some are originally created in other colours than the traditional white, red and green colours used for Christmas patterns, but all patterns can be used as granny squares for blankets.
